Bob Hope for President

Bob Hope was a long time Republican donating to various political campaigns.  His popularity was not missed by those in his party and he was approached at one point as a potential presidential candidate.  Hope had to decline.  He was, in fact, a foreign born naturalized US Citizen and was not eligible for the position.  He was born in London, England and was a British citizen.
